About Formula Fools Games
What is Formula Fools Games
A set of daily Formula 1 puzzles from the Formula Fools podcast, the show for F1 beginners and the mates pretending they get it. A new round of each game every day, the same round for everybody.
Free, no account, nothing to install. Guess the Driver and Career Path keep a streak for every day you solve them. Driver Duel keeps your best run instead. All of it lives on this device.
How to play
- Guess the mystery driver in six goes.
- Every guess is scored across five career attributes: team, nationality, titles, wins and debut season.
- The team column shows the team your guess drove for most recently. Green means the answer finished at that team too. Gold means the answer raced there at some point, just not last. Red means they never did.
- On the other columns, green is an exact match and red is not. A chevron on the number columns tells you whether the answer is higher or lower than your guess.
- Three hints unlock as you go, after your second, third and fourth guess. Each costs 2 points.
- You start on 12 points. Every guess after the first costs 1, every hint costs 2.
- Two modes. Sprint is drivers who have raced since 2020, with at least five starts.
- Grand Prix reaches back to 1950, and who is included depends on when a driver last raced. From 2016 on, anyone with at least five starts. Between 1990 and 2015, champions, race winners and a short hand-picked list of familiar names. Before 1990, champions and drivers with at least two wins. Winners of the Indianapolis 500 who never started a Grand Prix are left out.
- A driver's career, told in team logos, in the order they drove for them. Name the driver in six goes.
- No years are shown. Working out the era from the badges alone is the puzzle.
- Three hints unlock after your second, third and fourth guess. Each costs 2 points.
- Hint 1 is the strongest on purpose: it gives you the years at every team. Hints 2 and 3 are nationality and a career stat, which is different information rather than a weaker version.
- Some drivers have identical team histories. Guess one of those and we will say so, and it still costs a guess. You read the path right, just not the person.
- You start on 12 points. Every guess after the first costs 1, every hint costs 2.
- Two modes. Sprint is drivers who have raced since 2020, with at least five starts.

Winners of the Indianapolis 500 who never started a Grand Prix are left out.
- Two drivers from a real Formula 1 podium are shown, and one is missing. Name the missing driver in six guesses.
- Every wrong guess tells you what that driver actually did in that race: where they were classified, or that they retired, were disqualified, or never started.
- Three hints unlock after your second, third and fourth guess. Each costs 2 points.
- The hints go from broad to narrow: a career category, then the team they drove for in that race, then their nationality.
- You start on 12 points. Every guess after the first costs 1, every hint costs 2.
- Two modes. Sprint is races from 2020 onward. Grand Prix reaches back to 1990.
- Where we have no photograph of a driver, the card shows their name instead. The puzzle plays the same either way.
- Everyone playing the same mode gets the same race on the same day.
- Two drivers, one question. Pick the right driver and keep the run alive.
- Twelve comparisons a day. Get one wrong and the run ends there.
- Your score is the run: how many you got right before the first miss. Twelve is the most anyone can score.
- The statistic changes from round to round. Most rounds ask which driver has more: race wins, podiums, starts or championships. Debut rounds ask the other way round, which of the two reached Formula 1 first.
- The question is written above the pair every round, so you never have to assume which way it runs.
- Both drivers are shown before you pick, and both numbers are revealed after you pick.
- There are no hints, and no typing. It is the quick one.
- Two modes. Sprint is drivers who have raced since 2020, with at least five starts.
